My heart is filled to the brim with thanksgiving!!

The dogwood tree at the back of our yard is trying to bloom.

I like to see what it looks like Easter weekend each year.

This year it looks a lot like me...

not fully blooming, curled protectively inward, and a little burnt around the edges.

And also, full of HOPE!

Because there is still time 

to keep blooming, unfolding to what's to come, and letting true colors take over.

Easter, our season of HOPE is here!

I can't wait to see more beautiful blooms on this tree in the coming weeks!!

And more beautiful blooming in my heart too!

"We put our hope in the LORD.

He is our help and our shield.

Her Mom's parting words to her as we left their house today were, "Be a blessing!"

My super sweet reading day buddy was indeed a blessing in more ways than just this one 

to everyone she met today! We're all eagerly anticipating our next visit already!

One of my very favorite things to do on our last morning of the trip is sit on the beach for sunrise.

Soak it all in, like I can somehow take it home with me that way...

This morning was no different.

God gave us clear skies and a glorious sunrise.

Scott joined me for a bit, a dolphin family swam by,

 then I got to call our birthday girl, spend some alone time with Jesus,

sit and stare at the water for quite a while and it was lovely.

Just lovely.

What an absolute joy to worship with these dear friends this morning!!

The last time we were all at this church together, they had been married less than 24 hours.

Now three and a half years later, a fun new guy joined our crew!

Being in the audience for my niece's theatrical endeavors is PURE JOY!!

She not only sang, danced and performed with great skill and enthusiasm, 

she also complimented and cheered on her castmates and friends.
